    How to make potstickers

Make the filling: You are going to start by cutting up the cabbage into small pieces so that it is mixed smaller the better in a lot of ways so that it is easier to mix then add protein and season and mix it together.

Fill wrappers: you're going to lay out some wrappers and put in one tablespoon of filling to each wrapper

Close and pleat wrappers: add a little water around the outside edge so that the wrapper will stick to itself and then you're going to fold in half and press the edges together.

Cooking: your then going to heat the pan with some oil over medium heat. Then add dumplings to the pan and let cook for about 5 minutes then add a little water to steam and cover to hold in the steam let steam for about 5 minutes.

Dummpling wrapers are try and have had filling placed in them some have already been put together

    Ingredients you will need

    • Cabbage- bring a nice earthy bitter fast and give them a little color
    • Ground pork- you can use any ground meat but in this case, we are using ground pork
    • Black pepper- helps add some flavor
    • Soy sauce- gives you the salt you need for flavor to come out and gives you an umami flavor as well which I still can't explain
    • Rice vinegar - gives a nice tangy flavor
    • Dumpling wrappers— if you didn't have these they wouldn't be dumping/pot stickers  they would be more like little meatballs
    • Cooking oil- so that they crisp up nicely in the pan and don't stick and helps add some color
    • Water - needed for closing the wrappers and for steaming the pot stickers
Up close on a dumpling wrapper and filling with the edge wettes before pleating

    Variations that you could make:

    • Protein - change the protein using to use ground turkey or chicken
    • Vegetable- use mushrooms to get some of the same feel as meat or you can just use a different vegetable mix
    • Sweet - can make a sweet version with strawberries or other fruit
    • More traditional - use green onion, and oyster sauce and ginger
Posticiers added in to the pan

What is the difference between a pot sticker and a dumping?

What I was able to learn is that it is partly how they are cooked and how tightly they are wrapped for pot stickers they are pretty loose. It don't matter as much if they sealed as they are fried on the bottom and then streamed to finish. Where dumbling need to be wrapped tight with no openings as they lost often are boiled or steamed so if they are not sealed then water can get in to them which will rund them

    How to store?

You can save in the fridge cooked for a few days or you can freeze and save for about two months. You will want to freeze them quickly after making so that the moisture will go though the wrapper.

    Can you freezer?

Yes, you will want to freeze quickly after making you will want to freeze on a try at first and one they are frozen you can move to a bag moister will mess them up if left to long

Can you make ahead of time?

Yes, You can make them ahead of time. You will want to keep the filling and wrapper separate or you will want to make them and then freeze. You can then put them right in the pan frozen. When you are ready to make them. We have friends that, do this all the time.

    What is a pot sticker?

Pot stickers is a dumpling that is cooked in a pan that is aloud too cool on the bottom of a pan so that it get a just cook on the bottom of the pan. Story that I have seen say that chef for got about dummbling and thru got to the bottom of the pan and became a hit in china and know around the world

The lid has been been removed. Have a nice tan color and are a little translucent
