Why You’ll Love This Crockpot Marry Me Chicken

    • Easy to make: The crockpot  handles most of the cooking.
    • Creamy and flavorful: Parmesan, garlic, and sun-dried tomatoes create a rich sauce.
    • Great for busy nights: Prep it, start the crockpot, and let dinner cook.
    • Family-friendly: Serve it over pasta, rice, or potatoes.
    • Perfect for leftovers: The sauce reheats well for an easy next-day lunch.

    Ingredients

    • Chicken we like to use boneless, skinless chicken breasts but you can also use chicken thighs as they don’t dry out as much
    • salt ,black pepper just helps with the flavor of the diag
    • Italian seasoning is made out of several dry hers oregano, basil, rosemary, thyme, and marjoram with this combination it give a sweet mint like and floral flavor. I know it added quite a bit of flavor all in on jar
      • But may also have parsley sage or garlic
    • garlic. We think fresh garlic has a little better flavor but you can us any garlic that you would like for this dish
    • heavy cream help make it so that it is nice and creamy we tried using creamer one time but that was not a good idea not really sure how to explain the taste but doen recommend substationing that just use heavy cream
    • Parmesan cheese. You can use what ever Parmesan cheese that you like it have but if you use the pre shredded be aware the sauce will be diffrnt and the cheese will tend to clump a d bit combine as well but may be you have a trick but we have not been to much luck with it
    • sun-dried tomatoes
    • red pepper flakes this helps give a little heat and in some ways I think helps pull the dish together
    • fresh basil just helps add a nice pop at the end

How to Make Crockpot Marry Me Chicken

    1. Prepare the chicken Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.

    2. Add the chicken to the crockpot Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.

Add the minced garlic and chopped sun-dried tomatoes.

    3. Make the creamy sauce Pour the chicken broth and heavy cream over the chicken.

Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes over the top.

    4. Slow cook Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.

Avoid overcooking the chicken, as chicken breasts can become dry if left in the slow cooker too long.

    5. Finish the dish Carefully remove the chicken and stir the sauce.

Return the chicken to the crockpot and spoon some of the creamy sauce over the top.

Sprinkle with fresh basil before serving.

What to Serve With Marry Me Chicken

    • Pasta. is one of my favorite choices because it gives you something to soak up all that creamy sun-dried tomato sauce.
    • Mashed potatoes
    • Rice
    • Garlic bread
    • Roasted vegetables
    • Steamed broccoli
    • Green beans
    • A simple side salad
Every thing has been added to crockpot and ready to be cooked you can see cream and seasoning and just a little chicken

    Pro Tips

Don’t overcook the chicken. Chicken breasts is lean and  dry out if cooked to much.

Use freshly grated Parmesan. It melts better into the sauce than many pre-shredded varieties.

Don’t skip the sun-dried tomatoes. They add a sweet, tangy flavor that helps give Marry Me Chicken its signature taste.

Want more heat? Add extra red pepper .

For thicker sauce: After removing the chicken, leave the slow cooker uncovered on HIGH for several minutes while stirring occasionally letting it thicken. Or though it in the pan with the pasta after draining and and cook it down in the pasta pot this is what I prefer

Slice before serving. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing and spooning the sauce over it.

    FAQ

    Can I Use Chicken Thighs?

Yes! Boneless, skinless chicken thighs work very well in this recipe. They are more forgiving than chicken breasts and stay juicy during slow cooking.

Can I Make Marry Me Chicken Ahead of Time?

Yes. You can make the chicken ahead of time and refrigerate it in an airtight container. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a small splash of chicken broth or cream while reheating.

Can I Freeze Crockpot Marry Me Chicken?

Yes, but the creamy sauce may change texture slightly after freezing and thawing. For the best results, allow the chicken and sauce to cool completely before transferring them to a freezer-safe container. For up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator and reheat gently.

Why is it called Marry Me Chicken?

The name comes from the idea that the dish is so delicious that someone might say, “Marry me!” after tasting it. It’s a playful name for a creamy, flavorful chicken dish.

Can I use half-and-half instead of heavy cream?

Yes, although the sauce won’t be quite as rich or thick. Heavy cream gives the sauce the creamiest texture.

Can I leave out the red pepper flakes?

Yes. Red pepper flakes are optional.

What kind of sun-dried tomatoes should I use?

Oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes work especially well. Drain them before chopping and adding them to the crockpot.

How do I know when the chicken is done?

Chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F in the thickest part of the meat.

Can I make this with frozen chicken?

For food-safety reasons, it is best to thaw the chicken before putting it in the slow cooker. Starting with thawed chicken also helps it cook more evenly.

    Recipe Variations

Spinach Marry Me Chicken: Stir in a few handfuls of fresh spinach near the end of cooking.

Mushroom Marry Me Chicken: Add sliced mushrooms for an extra savory flavor.

Spicy Marry Me Chicken: Increase the red pepper flakes or add a pinch of cayenne pepper.

Chicken Thigh Marry Me Chicken: Replace the chicken breasts with boneless, skinless chicken thighs.
