Nice plater full of corn beef and cabbage

The reason you will love this recipe

Easy to make just put it together and it could almost make itself

Make it perfectly each time

Gives everything an amazing flavor throughout

Makes a really amazing meal for St Patrick day

Growing up my mom would make this recipe one the stove she would have to boil the corn beef for hour and scrap off the fat. And then would add this amazing sauce. Just like now the cabbage would be added at the end but this was not always with cabbage.

What is corned beef

It is a cut of brisket  that has been brined the corn has nothing to do with the grain but to do with the salt that is the brain the meet goes though and the German word kurnam. All have hear that I comes from England as well and has not do with meet curing of the beef

Corn beef has been out in the crockpot and had the seasoning added. You can see the red of the meat and the marbling in it. The seasoning packet added some really nice night colors

What you will to make this recipe

  • Corned beef with seasoning this that the beef is already in a Brine and seasoned some comes with a season packet. This is normally some coriander seed black pepper and some bay leaf’s.
  • Russet potatoes  just like to use these as what we have on had they also stay together well. You will want to peel and cut them so they are about ½ inch or so
  • carrots  we like to Banausen carrots as they are already pilled and all ready small enough so you don’t have ti cut them up
  • Cabbage- can’t have corn beef and cabbage with out the cabbage you will want to wait to added this tell the last 1 and half as it does not take much to cooka
  • mustard and brown sugar sauce is great for the sauce a helps a little more spice to the dish and also give it a tang as well combined with the corn beef and cabbage people say this is what really makes the dish for them

How to make slow cooker corn beef and cabbage

  • Start the corn beef – put the corn beef and seasoning in the slow cooker and let Cook one low so that it is nice and tender
  • Added the carrots and potatoes you want to add these so that they can cook for at least 6 hours
  • Added the cabbage to the pot as well and let cook for 1 and a half hours
  • Added the sauce pull out the corn beef and put on baking sheet and  added sauce  and broil for 10 minutes.
Sauce has been added to coat the corn beef and it is siting on some tin foil

If you want to make it is the best

Make sure to Cook it low and slow as ut need to take time too cook all the way and

Rest the meat – you will want to let the meat rest for about 15 minutes that that it does not dry out and has time to set up a little.

A cut against  the grain – this cut of meat is kind of what I would call fiber so to make it the most tender you need to cut the grain so that it breaks them apart and is the most tender

The sauce has now formed a crust on the corn-beef and it all has been sliced up it has a nice solid red color in it now there were a few places did get a little blacked

Veratiosn to this

You can just make the beef part and not added the other parts for some really tender conned beef and do your own sides

Not filling like having part of this recipe try leaving it out. Just don’t leave out the corn beef

you can also try using honey mustard instead of yellow
