Mexican Lasagna

Dec 19, 2023 · 1 Comment

Warrior Casserole was one of my favorite dishes growing up. Honestly, I want to say this year that I learned that most people would probably call it Mexican lasagna. Due to it having layers of tortillas, meat, cheese, and sauce. Where all the flavors come together for an amazing taste that the whole family will love Mexican lasagna.

Ground beef and onions cooking in a frying pan for Mexican lasagna

Why we love it

This meal has an amazing flavor that you can easily change up by adding something to it or by simply changing the type of cream soup that you use, see variations for some options. It is really easy to make and can make sure that you don’t have corn tortillas that go bad. It is really simple to make as well you just need to cook up some portion with some onions and then add sauce and heat it. Once you have that it is just a matter of putting down a few layers and cooking it and then your masterpiece will be ready

The ingredients and what they are for:

Tortillas- make the base of the lasagna and take the place of the noodles

Cream of mushroom- is the sauce for the dish

Ground beef – is the protein for the meal and adds a nice beefy flavor

Onion – add to the flavor

Variations

Chose a different protein – you could make chicken instead of beef. You could also make more of a breakfast version by using eggs and sausage. You could also make a vegetable version or mushrooms.

Add some spice – you could also add some jalapenos or peppers to make it more into the Mexican Lasagna version

Choose a different soup you could all so use cream of chicken instead of cream of mushroom those are two that we have used but I’m sure that you could use others as well

Choose different tortillas; corn tortillas are what we have had the best success with add have tasted best but you can also use flour tortillas. There are all kinds of tortillas out there pick what you like and give it a try,
